Tony Bogard Foundation

The Tony Bogard Foundation is dedicated to empowering ex-gang members through recovery, mentorship, and pathways to a brighter future.

Our Mission: Turning Pain into Purpose

The Tony Bogard Foundation was established in honor of Tony Bogard Thomas, a former gang member turned peacemaker who lost his life counseling others to break free from the cycle of violence. Founded by his brother George Ray Thomas, the Foundation serves as a beacon of hope for ex-gang members seeking a second chance.

Our team, including CEO George Bogard, former NFL player Ron Brown, and rapper/actor Ice-T, is committed to providing recovery programs, mentorship, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. Together, we strive to honor Tony’s legacy by fostering healing and transformation in underserved communities.

How a Crips co-founder survived prison, cancer and injustice

He lay shackled to a prison bed, arms and legs stretched wide in a crucifix-like position, cuffed for hours. Worms crawled from his body. Feces piled beneath him. A hole in his throat where his voice used to be. Guards walked past. No one stopped.
